AbSec, as a community based organisation solely relies on the generosity of others to continue supporting Aboriginal communities, organisations and families who are at risk or are in out-of-home care. The sponsorship of these companies has made it possible for Absec to continue providing advice, training and support to Aboriginal families in the out-of-home care system or families at risk and other community based organisations. The Telstra Foundation offers a large amount of support to a number of projects throughout Australia. The Telstra foundation is committed to supporting community organisations such as AbSec in the quest to make a lasting positive impact and difference to the lives of Australian children and young people. The Telstra Foundations contribution to AbSec helped fund the film Have a Heart - Become a Carer in 2008, launching a new resource to recruit more carers. AbSec commemorates the commitment by the Telstra Foundation to the recruitment.
