Enter our artwork competition for your chance to win an iPad
Monday 11 February 2019
Are you young, Aboriginal and a deadly artist?
We want you to help us create the signature artwork for our 2019 conference! The conference will be held in Coffs Harbour in November, where more than 200 workers will come together to discuss how to make Aboriginal kids safe and their families strong.
Our work is all about keeping Aboriginal young people at home in their communities, surrounded by culture and effective support services. So we think it’s only right that those same Aboriginal young people (aged 25 and younger) get the opportunity to design our conference art.
Submit your entry by 31 March for your chance to win an iPad. Details below.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for original artwork relating to the theme of keeping Aboriginal children and families strong. You can take the theme at face value or be abstract – the creative decisions are up to you!
It’s important that the artwork is 100% yours (i.e. it doesn’t use samples or elements of anyone else’s work) and original (i.e. it hasn’t been used or submitted elsewhere).
You can submit artwork in any format (drawing, digital art, photography, etc.
How to enter
Please submit your artwork using the button below. It’s best if the file you submit is high-resolution (i.e. 300 DPI). If you are taking a photo of a hard-copy artwork, try to use a DSLR camera with high-quality image settings switched on. (And put your hard-copy artwork in a safe place, because if you win the competition, we may ask you to mail it to us!)
How we’ll judge the winner
A panel of AbSec staff members will review all the artworks and vote on the winner – the most eye-catching design that reflects the conference theme of Aboriginal children and families.
We promise to exclude people with a conflict of interest (e.g. staff members who are related to competition entrants) from the judging panel. We will view the artworks ‘blind’ – without knowing who has entered which piece.
About the prize
The creator of the selected artwork will win a brand new iPad (6th generation), 9.7-inch with 32GB storage and wifi connectivity.
